30 Days Left: CIT Bank’s 4.10% APY Promo Ends August 31

    August 31

CIT Bank’s 4.10% annual percentage yield (APY) ¹ promotion on its Platinum Savings account ends August 31, 2026, about four weeks from today*. After that, the boosted rate is no longer available to new enrollments, and new accounts revert to CIT’s standard APY schedule.

If you’re looking for an easy way to earn a little more on your savings, you won’t find a simpler thing to do. Check out CIT Bank’s Platinum Savings Account here >>

Would you like to save this?

We’ll email this article to you, so you can come back to it later!

What You Lose If You Miss The Deadline

    • The boost is 0.35% APY percentage points above CIT’s current standard top-tier APY of 3.75%.
    • Across six months on a $25,000 balance, that’s roughly $44 in additional interest.
    • On $100,000, it’s roughly $170 over the same six-month window.
    • Versus the national savings average of 0.38%, the gap on $100,000 over six months is closer to $1,800.

    What Happens After August 31

    • Accounts already enrolled during the promo window continue earning 4.10% APY for the remainder of their six-month boost period.
    • After each enrollee’s six-month window ends, the rate reverts to CIT’s prevailing standard APY (currently 3.75% on $5,000+ balances).
    • New accounts opened after August 31 earn the standard rate from day one — no boost.

So, if you’re deciding on whether to open an account now or wait until July, there’s a real benefit to getting started now.

    The Terms (One More Time)

    • Enter promo code CITBoost during the online application.
    • $100 minimum to open but $5,000 minimum balance to earn the 4.10% rate.
    • Open to both new and existing CIT customers.
    • No direct deposit, debit-card use, or monthly transaction requirements.
    • Member FDIC

    How This Connects

The College Investor tracks bank bonus and promotional offers everyday, and the pattern is consistent: when a promo APY ends, similar offers tend to be replaced by smaller boosts or stricter qualifying terms.

With the Fed projected to hold rates steady through mid-2026, banks have little incentive to keep raising standard APYs, which makes time-limited boosts one of the few short-term levers savers actually have right now.

If you’ve been planning to move idle cash to a high-yield savings account, the next 30 days are the window to lock in the 4.10% APY rate. After August 31, CIT’s standard 3.75% APY is still competitive — but the extra 35 basis points go away for new enrollments.

APYs — Annual Percentage Yields are accurate as of July 1, 2026: 0.25% APY on balances of $0.01 to $4,999.99; 3.75% APY on balances of $5,000.00 or more. Interest Rates for the Platinum Savings account are variable and may change at any time without notice. The minimum to open a Platinum Savings account is $100.

²Based on comparison to the national average Annual Percentage Yield (APY) on savings accounts as published in the FDIC National Rates and Rate Caps, accurate as of July 20, 2026.

    * Platinum Savings APY Boost Promotion Terms and Conditions

This is a limited time offer available to New and Existing customers who meet the Platinum Savings APY Boost promotion criteria.

Accounts enrolled in the Platinum Savings Annual Percentage Yield (APY) Boost promotion will receive a 0.35% APY boost on the Platinum Savings current standard APY tiers for 6 months following the opening of a new account or when an existing Platinum Savings account is enrolled in the promotion. The Platinum Savings APY boost will be applied on account balances up to $9,999,999.00. Account balances above $9,999,999.00 will earn the standard APY. If the standard-published APY should change during the promotion period, the APY boost will move with it, offering an account APY above the standard rate.

The Promotion begins on February 13, 2026, and ends August 31, 2026. Customers enrolled in the promotion prior to the end date will receive the APY boost for the 6-month period outlined in the terms and conditions.

The promotion can end at any time without notice.
