If you have relatives or business clients in different time zones, staying updated with their local time is essential. To make this easier, you can add extra clocks in Windows for different time zones. This guide will show you multiple ways to set up additional clocks in Windows to track multiple time zones at a glance.
Add Up to Two Additional Clocks Through Windows Settings
Apart from your local clock, you can add up to two additional clocks to keep up with different time zones. Open Windows Settings and go to Time & language → Date & time. You can also right-click the date and time on the taskbar and select Adjust date and time. Here, open the Show time and date in the System tray section.
You’ll find two clocks here: Additional clock 1 and Additional clock 2. Click the Change button next to any of them, and you can select a time zone and a display name for it.
Once configured, you can see the time on these additional clocks by hovering the mouse cursor over date and time in the system tray. You can also just click on the date and time to view them in the Notification Center.
Pin Multiple Time Zones to the Start Menu
If you want to view more than 2 time zones in Windows, the Clock app is best for it. You can add and view different time zones in it and even pin the time zones in the Start menu to quickly access them. Here’s how:
Search “clock” in Windows Search and open the Clock app. Select Word clock in the left panel and then click on the Add a new city (+ icon) at the bottom right corner.
You can select time zones by city name here. Just select your city and click on Add to show it in the main World clock. Repeat the process to add as many as you want.
For quicker access, right-click on a time zone and select Pin to Start.
This will add the Clock app shortcut to the Start menu. Click on it to directly open the World clock section with all your selected times showing. Since it shows all the selected time zones, you only need to pin one time zone to access them all quickly.
For faster access, you can also add a world clock widget to the Windows Widgets board. You’ll just have to hover the mouse cursor over the Widgets section on the taskbar, and it will show clocks alongside other widgets. Even if you have customized the taskbar to not show Widgets, you can still press Win + W to quickly open it and view the clocks.
For this, we recommend the Globe Time Widget that lets you add unlimited time zones for free to show in the Widgets Board. Once installed, click on the + (Plus) icon in the Widgets Board, select Globe Time from the list, and click on Pin.
Once added, you can click the dots menu on it and select Customize widget to add/remove time zones.
The widget will show 3 time zones at a time; if you have more than 3, you can click on the arrows at the bottom to view the next 3. The 3 clocks you switch to using the arrows will become the default to show when the Widgets Board is opened.
Add Multiple Clocks to the Windows Desktop
If you want to view time in different zones at a glance, then you should add clocks to your desktop. We recommend the Widget Launcher app for this. It lets you add Windows 7-style desktop widgets to your Windows PC. While there are many widgets, we’ll be using the World Clock widget that lets you add up to 5 clocks on the desktop.
After installing, select the World Clock widget, and you’ll see options to customize it. You can fully customize the clock color and opacity here, including background, border, font, and accent colors. Once customized, click on Launch Widget to put it on the desktop.
You can move and resize the clock on the desktop as you like. It will show local time by default. Click on the Settings (gear icon) on the clock to search and select a time zone. You can repeat the process to add up to 5 clocks on your desktop showing time from different zones.
With these methods, you can stay perfectly synced with colleagues and family no matter where they are in the world. If you want an even more customizable setup, you can look into using Rainmeter to add highly customizable clock widgets.
