Standing desks offer a great way to avoid sitting all day, but so many of them wobble, can’t support much weight, or just don’t look that nice. The FlexiSpot E7 Plus Max Standing Desk aims to change everything with one of the most durable standing desks I’ve ever encountered.

This is a sponsored article and was made possible by FlexiSpot. The actual contents and opinions are the sole views of the author, who maintains editorial independence even when a post is sponsored.

    Completely Wobble-Proof

I know many standing desks are just made for a simple laptop, keyboard, mouse, and maybe a lamp and a cup of coffee. They don’t need to be ultra stable. Yet, I hate watching standing desks move up and down while everything on them shakes like the beginning of an earthquake.

The FlexiSpot E7 Plus Max Standing Desk is wobble-proof. It’s built like a tank with four legs and a frame made of a heavy-duty carbon steel. Yes, it’s a thicker design, but trust me, it’s not going to move without significant effort.

Instead of the standard inverted leg design, each leg features a formal design, providing a larger area and lower center of gravity. Every leg has its own motor to ensure a stable, smooth transition – even when fully loaded.

Even with a glass of water on it, I barely noticed any ripples in the water as the desk moved up and down.

If you’re placing the desk on uneven flooring, such as with one leg on a rug and the other on hardwood, each leg has a leveler to ensure the desk remains level.

    Smooth and Quiet Transitions

I’m sure we’ve all heard someone using a standing desk that makes it difficult to hear yourself think. The FlexiSpot E7 Plus Max Standing Desk features an ultra quiet four-motor system and three-stage leg sections for smoother and quieter transitions. It sounds like a low hum.

Since I work from home, my cats love to help, but loud noises scare them. They didn’t even notice the sound from the desk as I adjusted the height. In fact, one even sat on top of it with no issues.

If you’re looking for a standing desk that’s not going to overpower your Zoom call, this is it.

    Wide Height and Width Range

One thing I immediately loved about the FlexiSpot E7 Plus Max Standing Desk is how versatile it is. When you buy it, you buy the frame and then choose your desired desktop. You have nine options to choose from, and each option comes in various sizes.

The frame width itself adjusts from 43.3 to 74.8 inches. So whether you have a larger or smaller area, this standing desk will fit in perfectly. It also makes it easy to upgrade if you want to buy a larger desktop later on.

I received the 55 in. x 28 in. bamboo top for my review. I had no issues adjusting the frame to fit the spacious top.

No matter what top you choose (or you can build your own if you prefer), the height still adjusts from 25.8 to 51.6 inches. I can’t imagine anyone really needing this desk to go any higher. I’m 5 ft. 4 in. and had to increase the height slightly for a sitting position. I was just over a head taller than the desk at full height.

    Adjusted to 51.4 inches high.

    Make Adjustments in Seconds

Many standing desks are rather slow. Part of that is to help reduce any wobbling since they’re not as stable as they should be. The FlexiSpot E7 Plus Max Standing Desk moves at 1.5 in/sec. You’re not going to be left waiting long at all.

If you’re like me and don’t want to have to remember your optimal sitting and standing settings, the control panel lets you save your settings. The touch-sensitive panel features four memory presets, including one button just for sitting and one just for standing.

The easy-to-read screen shows you the current height. There’s even a child lock to prevent curious fingers from suddenly moving your desk.

One feature that took me by surprise was the built-in USB fast-charging port. It’s a great way to keep your devices charged without needing extra ports on top of the desk.

If you’re worried about the desk getting damaged or damaging your chair when moving up and/or down, FlexiSpot thought about that too. If the desk encounters an obstacle when moving, it stops immediately.

Load It Up – It Can Take It

While I wouldn’t recommend it, you could easily sleep on this desk with no issues. The durable frame supports up to 660 lbs. Once again, this makes the FlexiSpot E7 Plus Max Standing Desk surprisingly versatile.

Use it for the office and load it up with extra monitors, a printer, multiple computers, and more. Transform your kitchen with an adjustable standing desk perfect for bar stools, buffets, or even a standard dining room table. Use it in a workshop to hold equipment, such as laser engravers, CNC routers, saws, and more.

The frame itself weighs 123 lbs. The overall weight varies based on the desktop you choose. With the bamboo top, the desk weighs just over 160 lbs. So, yes, it’s more than sturdy enough for most anything you throw at it.

Magnetic Cable Management Leaves a Cleaner Look

Each leg has its own motor and cable. The control panel also has a cable. Add the power cable to the mix, and you have six cables under the desk already. FlexiSpot didn’t just leave everything hanging, so to speak.

Instead, I got a roll of Velcro to contain the cords however I wanted. But the biggest surprise and game changer is the magnetic cable cover. The fabric cover snaps onto the metal frame under the desk. It covers the power box and all cables feeding into it. You can also run your own cables through it if you need to.

FlexiSpot offers other cable management accessories as add-ons that fit with this model. I just love that the frame comes with this attachment, though, to give it a more professional look and feel.

Assembly Requires at Least Two People

Remember how heavy I said the desk is? Even the instructions recommend having at least two people to work on the desk. Assembly took just under an hour, and the only things not supplied are a drill and Philips head screwdriver. The most difficult part was flipping the desk over once it was fully assembled.

    Assembling the standing desk.

The instructions were clear, and the assembly itself was fairly straightforward. The weight is the biggest obstacle. The good news is that the FlexiSpot E7 Plus Max Standing Desk is built to last. It’s designed to handle over 30,000 transitions, and if you changed the position five times a day, every day, it’d still last around 16 years.

You’re not going to have to constantly replace the desk, and the weight works in your favor in terms of durability and stability.

The Premium Standing Desk That Stands Up to Its Claims

I didn’t expect to be so impressed with this standing desk. I kept searching for something wrong, but honestly, I can’t find anything. During my tests, the FlexiSpot E7 Plus Max Standing Desk stood up perfectly to all its claims. It’s easy to use, sturdy, and incredibly well made. It may seem expensive at first, but it’s a long-lasting desk that’s worth far more than its price.

    FlexiSpot frame and top.

Yes, it’s heavy to assemble and place where you want it. Otherwise, it’s a great multi-purpose desk that looks professional in nearly any environment. Pick up your own FlexiSpot E7 Plus Max Standing Desk frame for just $899.99. The final price varies based on the desktop you choose.
